The latest issue of the IUBMB Newsletter, which is designed to keep you informed about programs, opportunities and events offered by the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, has just been published.

In this Issue you can read about past events, meet new members of the Committees and new awardees. Furthermore, you can find news and nomenclature recommendations from the IUPAC-IUBMB Joint Commission on Biochemical Nomenclature (JCBN) and the Nomenclature Committee of the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (NC-IUBMB).

IUBMB Newsletter brings also “In memoriam” dedicated to the recently passed away William “Bill” Joseph Whelan (1924 – 2021). His extraordinary commitment to training the next generation of biochemists was honored by IUBMB with the creation of the Whelan Young Investigator Award. Also named in his honor are the highly popular Wood-Whelan Fellowships that provide opportunities for trainees around the world to visit labs in different countries to enhance their training.
